Health and Human Services offering drive-thru flu vaccination clinics

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – Residents interested in getting a flu vaccine will have the opportunity to receive one at no-cost and without leaving the comfort of their vehicle.

New Hanover County Health and Human Services will be offering three drive-thru flu vaccine clinics in the HHS parking lot at 1650 Greenfield Street. The first clinic will be held on Monday, October 12 and the second will be on Thursday, October 15. The final clinic will be held in alignment with Election Day on November 3. All three clinics will be in operation from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.

“Each year, the flu vaccine is designed to offer protection from the anticipated strand of seasonal flu, helping minimize the virus’ impacts on individuals,” said Health Director Jon Campbell. “These drive-thru clinics make it easy for members of the community to pull up, fill out some paperwork, roll up their sleeve and get protected. Our team can provide vaccines to multiple people in the vehicle and it’s a great option for those with mobility limitations.”

Flu vaccines will be available to anyone 6 months and older as part of the drive-thru clinic and no appointment is needed. There is no out-of-pocket cost to get vaccinated but residents who have insurance are asked to bring their information and provide it as part of the registration process.
