WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Men’s Health Network (MHN) today announces the start of Testicular Cancer Awareness Month (TCa Month), a national effort to elevate awareness, promote early detection, and encourage supportive conversations around men’s health, particularly among young men ages 15–35.

Testicular cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting young men, with nearly 10,000 diagnoses each year in the United States. While survival rates are high when the disease is detected early that outcome depends on awareness, education, and timely action.

This year’s theme, “Partners in Care: Know Your Risk. Talk with Your Family,” emphasizes that health does not happen in isolation. Families, partners, educators, healthcare providers, and communities all play a critical role in helping young men better understand their health, recognize potential warning signs, and feel supported in seeking care.

“Testicular cancer is highly treatable when detected early, but too often, awareness and conversations come too late,” said Jennifer Thompson, Vice President of Operations & Communications at Men’s Health Network. “By encouraging young men to understand their bodies and engage in open conversations with those around them, we can create a culture where prevention and early detection become the norm.”

How Young Men Can Perform a Self-Exam
One of the simplest and most effective ways to detect testicular cancer early is through regular self-exams.

When and Where:
• Perform a self-exam once a month
• The best time is during or after a warm shower, when the skin is relaxed

How to Perform a Self-Exam:
1. Gently roll each testicle between your thumb and fingers
2. Feel for any hard lumps, swelling, or changes in size or shape
3. Become familiar with normal anatomy, including the epididymis, a soft, cord-like structure behind the testicle

If you notice any unusual changes, discomfort, or abnormalities, consult a healthcare provider promptly.

Regular self-exams help young men:
• Become familiar with their bodies
• Recognize changes early
• Feel more confident discussing their health

Throughout April, Men’s Health Network is calling on individuals, organizations, and communities nationwide to take action by sharing educational resources, promoting monthly self-exams, and supporting conversations that help young men take charge of their health.

Ways to Get Involved:
• Download and share the free TCa Month Toolkit: https://www.testicularcancerawarenessmonth.com
• Promote awareness in your community by hosting events, sharing materials, and starting conversations
• Support outreach and education efforts: https://menshealthnetwork.org/donate
• Shop awareness materials and educational resources: https://menshealthnetwork.org/mhn-store

Testicular Cancer Awareness Month also reinforces Men’s Health Network’s broader mission to reach men, boys, and their families where they live, work, play, and pray, while working to close the Lifespan Gender Gap through education, advocacy, and community engagement.

As awareness grows throughout April, Men’s Health Network encourages everyone to take part in building a culture where men’s health is supported, conversations are normalized, and early detection becomes a shared priority.
