Israeli Airstrike Hits Lebanese Medical Facility
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the Health Ministry denounced the strike, stating it breached international humanitarian law.
“This is the initial toll as rescue operations continue to search for missing persons,” the ministry declared in a statement.
Hezbollah began targeting Israeli military positions on March 2 as retaliation for Israeli assaults on Lebanon, despite a November 2024 ceasefire and the killing of Iranian then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
Israel intensified its operations the same day, carrying out air raids on Beirut’s southern suburbs as well as areas in southern and eastern Lebanon.
On March 3, Israel also initiated a limited ground invasion in southern Lebanon after commencing a coordinated military campaign with the US against Iran on February 28.
Lebanese officials reported Thursday that the broader Israeli attacks have resulted in 733 fatalities, 1,933 injuries, and the displacement of 822,000 people.
