Pender County Housing Wraps Up Second Annual Pack the Future Supply Drive

Pender County's second annual Pack the Future initiative provided classroom supplies to teachers at schools within Pender County Schools, benefiting many classrooms as the new school year began.

Led by Pender County Housing, the effort received donations from Novant Health, county departments and anonymous donors committed to supporting local educators and students. Housing staff spent more than three months collecting and organizing the donations. Last week, they delivered the items and set up tables at each school so teachers could choose what worked best for their classrooms.

"Pack the Future is a meaningful way for our community to support the educators who serve Pender County students each day," Housing Director Brianna Martindale said. "Because of the generosity of our donors, teachers were able to choose the supplies that would be most useful in their classrooms."

Pender County thanks everyone who contributed to this year's Pack the Future. Their generosity gave teachers resources to use throughout the school year and reflected the community's continued support for local schools.
