This product isn’t rocket science, however it has the potential to become commonplace in hundreds of millions of homes across the globe. Let’s face it, does anyone enjoy using a toilet brush?”

— Kam Mistry

STROUD, GLOUCESTERSHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM, March 31, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — A British man is hoping to raise millions of pounds for charities if he reaches his Kickstarter funding target of £50,000 for the Shiffter, a new invention which aims to make cleaning toilets ‘considerably less disgusting’ than using a toilet brush.

The idea is a simple one – instead of using a toilet brush to clean the loo, you use a jet of water.
Kam Mistry, inventor of the Shiffter, who has been working on the project in the evenings and weekends around his day job, said:

“This product isn’t rocket science, however it has the potential to become commonplace in hundreds of millions of homes across the globe. Let’s face it, does anyone enjoy using a toilet brush? Does anyone like picking up a used one? Instead of using a toilet brush and bleach to clean a toilet you just pick up the Shiffter, which is filled with water and sits next to the toilet, and use it to jet wash the bowl clean. The feedback from everyone who has seen it has been great as they can immediately see how it will make a currently unpleasant chore much easier and cleaner. It’s also more friendly to the environment as you end up using less bleach, toilet cleaner and water.”

Obviously talking about cleaning poo from a toilet bowl is something that we generally don’t discuss at the dinner table, and this is something Kam has thought about, but he sees it as an opportunity rather than a hindrance. In a world where video is easy to use for demonstrating how something works, it isn’t so easy for the Shiffter, as no-one wants to watch a movie of something so personal. To get around this, a short animation has been created to show what the product does and then, using chocolate spread, the Shiffter’s effectiveness is shown in a brief video.

The Shiffter and a demonstration of it being used can viewed at www.shiffter.com and on the Kickstarter page.

Kam added:

“For obvious reasons, cleaning toilets isn’t something we talk about on a daily basis, and the same goes for illnesses related to digestive and intestinal disorders such as colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome and bowel cancer – to name but a few. Millions of people’s daily lives are blighted by such conditions but we don’t talk about them, so I’m hoping that giving 20% of profits from the product to related good causes will change people’s perspective and understanding about gut-related illnesses. It's about providing an opportunity to be more open about these issues which can be extremely demoralising.”

Kam is already in discussions with charities, including Crohn’s and Colitis UK, about their potential involvement.
Whilst a light-hearted approach is used on the Kickstarter website, he is hoping to raise serious amounts of money for charities with the patent pending product.

He added:

“With over a billion households in the world, the market is huge, and don’t forget that many homes have more than one toilet. On top of that there are toilets in hotel rooms and businesses too. The potential is enormous, especially if the patent application is successful.”

Phil Staunton, managing director of D2M, the product design company based in Cheltenham, which designed the Shiffter, said:

“It is a quirky new product with an interesting brand which provides a simple solution to an age-old problem. The design is very elegant and is styled nicely to suit any style of bathroom.”

Vicki Strachan, partner and patent attorney at Wynne-Jones IP, added:

“A good product needs to solve a problem, have a market and be affordable, and the Shiffter ticks those boxes. Additionally, everything it does is easily explained in just a few seconds and this makes it even more easy to market. Whilst it’s a relatively simple idea, its functional design features, name and branding – including the commitment to raising money for good causes – are all factors that increase the Shiffter’s potential for success.”

Whilst Kam intends to initially give 20% of profits to good causes, he wants that figure to rise as sales improve over time, so the potential to raise tens if not hundreds of millions of pounds for related good causes is very real, if he can reach his funding target to go into production.

The Kickstarter project is currently live and ends on Tuesday 2 May. If the funding target of £50,000 on the crowdfunding website is reached, the Shiffter will go into production in the summer and be available to buy shortly afterwards.

A UK patent is pending (Patent Application No. 1613313.4) with foreign applications due to be filed in the next few weeks.

Routine Blood Tests Can Help Measure a Patient’s Future Risk for Chronic Disease

A new study by researchers at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute in Murray finds that combining information from routine blood tests and age of primary care patients can create a score that measures future risk of chronic disease.

New study finds that combining information from routine blood tests and age of patients can create a score to measure future risk of chronic disease.

We hope ICHRON can be used to help identify patients who are at a higher risk for a chronic disease and therefore need more personalized care. ”

— Heidi May, PhD, MSPH, Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH , USA , March 31, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — A new study by researchers at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute in Murray finds that combining information from routine blood tests and age of primary care patients can create a score that measures future risk of chronic disease.

This simple risk score, termed the Intermountain Chronic Disease Risk Score, or ICHRON, can predict the first diagnosis of the most common chronic diseases — which include diabetes, kidney failure, coronary artery disease, heart attack, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, atrial fibrillation, stroke, dementia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease — within three years, the study found.

Researchers say ICHRON predictions are 77-78 percent accurate in identifying patients who’ll be diagnosed with a chronic disease within three years of testing. The impact of the study could be extensive, since more than half of the adult population in the United States suffers from one or more chronic diseases, and projections show a 40 percent increase in chronic disease cases in the next 10 years.

Results of the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute study were presented at the American College of Cardiology's 66th Annual Scientific Session in Washington, D.C.

“Our goal was to create a clinical tool that’s useful, easily obtainable and doesn’t slow the work-flow of our clinicians,” said Heidi May, PhD, MSPH, principal investigator of the the study and a cardiovascular epidemiologist with the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute.

Dr. May and her team studied a primary care population consisting of both male and female patients who had no history of a chronic disease. ICHRON was developed among one set of primary care patients, then tested in a second, independent primary care population.

Among females, those with a moderate ICHRON score were three times more likely to be diagnosed with a chronic disease compared to those with a low ICHRON score, while those with a high ICHRON score were 11 times more likely to be diagnosed.

For males, those with a moderate score were 5.6 times more likely to be diagnosed with a chronic disease within three years, and those with a high ICHRON score were 14 times more likely to be diagnosed compared to those with a low ICHRON score.

“We hope ICHRON can be used to help identify patients who are at a higher risk for a chronic disease and therefore need more personalized care. For example, if a patient received a high ICHRON score, the clinician could plan to see the patient more frequently or be more aggressive with treatments,” she said. “Or if the patient had a low ICHRON score, they could potentially be seen less often or their care providers could forego a test they were considering.”

Researchers see three major potential benefits:

– First, patients will live healthier lives as they avoid — or proactively learn to manage — chronic diseases.

– Second, they’ll be better able to avoid serious complications that often result from unmanaged chronic diseases, such as heart attacks or strokes that result from high blood pressure or unmanaged diabetes.

– Third, patients’ healthcare costs will decrease dramatically.

“It’s a lot less expensive to help patients improve their lifestyles than it is to treat a heart attack — and that’s in addition to all of the physical and emotional benefits that result from healthier lifestyles,” said Dr. May. “The ICHRON tool supports Intermountain Healthcare’s system effort to use preventive medicine to improve people’s health and control healthcare costs.”

ICHRON is designed to be calculated by a hospital’s electronic health record at low incremental expense.

Other researchers involved in the study include Donald L. Lappé, MD; Kirk U. Knowlton, MD; Brent Muhlestein, MD; and Benjamin D. Horne, PhD.

Brilliant teeth require proper care and the right equipments

Dental care needs the highest quality of Intraoral Dental Camera and Dental Imaging Equipment.you should do your research well before investing.

Dental care needs the highest quality of Intraoral Dental Camera and Dental Imaging Equipment.”

— Yein Dental Ltd

KOWLOON, KOWLOON, HK, March 31, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Our teeth have always been the most precious part of our body. When we were kids, our parents used to scare us by saying that if we don’t brush our teeth then the tooth-fairy will take all our teeth. Brushing habits are the first thing that most of us learnt during our childhood. That is why it is important to remember exactly how precious our teeth are. Having a perfect set of teeth is a great asset to anybody, whether it is a man or a woman. Although, cosmetic tooth fixes like plating, polishing and corrective braces are mostly worn by women, even men have begun to realise the value of a shining set of teeth.

The best equipments for dental care
Dental care is of utmost importance if you want to retain your healthy white teeth. However, for those who run a dental clinic, getting the right equipment to take care of people’s teeth can be a real headache. Dental care needs the highest quality of Intraoral Dental Camera and Dental Imaging Equipment. Without these machines, a dentist cannot fix a patient’s teeth. When you are looking to buy the best dental equipments, you should do your research well before investing. The brand reputation matters a lot when you are looking to invest in high quality medical equipments. Also, you need to check for the number of years of warranty that the company is offering to its customers.

A good brand will always ensure that the warranty period is long enough (2 to 5 years). Also, the maintenance and repair services should be good enough for the product to continue performing well for a long time. Intraoral cameras are used by dentists to view the insides of the patient’s mouth before the dental treatment is done. These cameras need to be of very high resolution to avoid causing any unnecessary pain to the patient. That is why it is even more important to buy equipments from a trusted brand. Whether it is imaging equipment or a driller set that you are getting, do a thorough back-ground check of the brand from which you are buying these.

The first choice of dentists
Trusted brands are always the first choice of dentists when getting their dental treatment and operative equipments. Not only are these more trustworthy but you also end up with a life-long maintenance guarantee from these types of dental equipment manufacturers.

Global Market study on Hepatitis Drugs and Nanomedicine Forecasts from 2017 – 2023

Orbis Research

Orbis Research

OrbisResearch.com has published new research report on "Hepatitis Drugs and Nanomedicine Forecast to 2017-2023" to its database.

TEXAS, DALLAS, USA, March 31, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — The “Global Hepatitis Drugs Market” is estimated to witness a CAGR of 15.0% during the forecast period 2017–2023

Hepatitis is a medical condition where the liver is predominantly affected, which can also affect the digestive system and brain. There are three major types of hepatitis condition – HAV, HBV, and HCV. HCV is a major public health problem that attacks the liver and leads to inflammation. Certain drugs, toxins, heavy alcohol use, bacterial and viral infections can cause hepatitis infection. Hepatitis C infection can bring both acute and chronic hepatitis disease. Approximately, 80% of the patients get chronically infected with Hepatitis C disease. Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) spreads through the blood of an infected individual by the use of shared needles or supplies used to infuse drugs. Vaccines are available only for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B viruses. Research into the development of a vaccine for Hepatitis C is under way.

Request a sample copy of Hepatitis Drugs Market Report with Table of contents@ http://www.orbisresearch.com/contacts/request-sample/240667

Factors such as rise in injection drug users, increase in awareness, presence of unmet need, and anticipated launch of new drugs are expected to drive the market growth during the forecast period. The market is witnessing the emerging trend of pediatric combination vaccines, which protect against multiple causative agents and thereby reduce the costs gain in packaging and administering individual vaccines. The markets in India, Brazil, China, and Russia are also expected to grow at a rapid pace during the forecast period as the prevalence of hepatitis in these countries is high.

The major drivers of the hepatitis drugs market include the second generation DAAs of Olysio and Sovaldi. Second generation DAAs are more efficacious and have lesser adverse effects. Currently, the market players are developing IFN therapies for the treatment of Hepatitis C. These therapies are intended to be all-oral regimens. The HCV drugs segment comprised more than 84% of the total market share in 2016. A major focus in this segment is expected to drive the growth of the hepatitis drugs market in the future.

Enquiry Before buying Hepatitis Drugs Market Report@ http://www.orbisresearch.com/contacts/enquiry-before-buying/240667

The “Global Nanomedicine Market” is estimated to witness a CAGR of 17.1% during the forecast period 2017–2023.

Nanomedicine is an offshoot of nanotechnology, and refers to highly-specific medical intervention at the molecular scale for curing diseases or repairing damaged tissues. Nanomedicine uses nano-sized tools for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease, and to gain increased understanding of the complex underlying pathophysiology of the disease. It involves three nanotechnology areas of diagnosis, imaging agents, and drug delivery with nanoparticles in the 1–1,000 nm range, biochips, and polymer therapeutics.

Request a sample copy of Nanomedicine Market Report with Table of contents@ http://www.orbisresearch.com/contacts/request-sample/240671

The majority of nanomedicines used now allow oral drug delivery and its demand is increasing significantly. Although these nanovectors are designed to translocate across the gastrointestinal tract, lung, and blood–brain barrier, the amount of drug transferred to the organ is lower than 1%; therefore improvements are challenging. Nanomedicines are designed to maximize the benefit/risk ratio, and their toxicity must be evaluated not only by sufficiently long term in vitro and in vivo studies, but also pass multiple clinical studies.

The major drivers of the nanomedicine market include its application in various therapeutic areas, increasing R&D studies about nanorobots in this segment, and significant investments in clinical trials by the government as well as private sector. The Oncology segment is the major therapeutic area for nanomedicine application, which comprised more than 35% of the total market share in 2016. A major focus in this segment is expected to drive the growth of the nanomedicine market in the future.

As a side note we are urging a person with mesothelioma in New Jersey or their family members to ignore Internet ads that suggest-no lawsuit needed or federal claim center”

— New Jersey Mesothelioma Victims Center

These incredibly capable mesothelioma attorneys make house calls anywhere in New Jersey and they also produce extremely significant financial compensation results for people with this rare cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Why settle for less?" http://NewJersey.MesotheliomaVictimsCenter.Com

As an example of some of the mesothelioma compensation results produced for people with mesothelioma in New Jersey produced by the attorneys suggested by the New Jersey Mesothelioma Victims Center:

* $2,500,000 for a carpenter/construction worker
* $2,100,000 for a dentist
* $1,500,000 for a boiler worker/machinist
* $2,000,000 for an individual with second hand exposure to asbestos

As a side note we are urging a person with mesothelioma in New Jersey or their family members to ignore Internet ads that suggest 'no lawsuit needed or federal claim center' because in reality to get properly compensated for mesothelioma you will need an attorney, a lawsuit is very likely and the federal government does not sponsor a claims center for people or Veterans with mesothelioma." http://NewJersey.MesotheliomaVictimsCenter.Com

The New Jersey Mesothelioma Victims Center wants to emphasize theirs is a statewide initiative available to a diagnosed Veteran or person anywhere in New Jersey, including communities such as Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, Elizabeth, Edison, Toms River, or Trenton. http://NewJersey.MesotheliomaVictimsCenter.Com

For the best possible treatment option in New Jersey, the New Jersey Mesothelioma Victims Center strongly recommends the following heath care facility with the offer to help a diagnosed victim or their family get to the right physicians at this hospital.

* The Rutgers University’s Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick:
http://www.cinj.org/

The states indicated with the highest incidence of mesothelioma include Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Louisiana, Washington, and Oregon.

High risk work groups for exposure to asbestos in New Jersey include US Navy Veterans, power plant workers, oil refinery workers, manufacturing or industrial workers, chemical plant workers, plumbers, electricians, auto mechanics, machinists, mill workers, printers, welders, boiler technicians, or construction workers. Typically, the exposure to asbestos occurred in the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s or 1980’s.
